As most people would know on Saturday May 5th, we held a raise awareness day in Pitt Street Mall. Sorry I have not updated sooner, but until today I have been far too emotional to even consider updating. I’ve been told we had around 150 people Standing Against Live Export on Saturday, but I honestly cannot be sure. I will admit on Friday and Saturday I did feel overwhelmed by it all, but that was my very first time public speaking. But I knew I had to keep going because of those beautiful animals. What I do know is that we gave out around 3000 flyers, we gained over 500 signatures and hopefully raised the awareness of this horrifically cruel trade. We had a vast age range turn up and even some beautiful 4 legged friends who had their own Stop Live Export T shirts on. The people who supported this day were amazing, there were a few people who did cause a bit of a commotion, but I did state it was a public place and they did not have to stay if their beliefs differed from mine. I have always been honest, I do eat some meat and did not feel I needed to justify this to anyone. However I was called a liar and dishonest..... While we didn’t manage to stop the death ships, I KNOW WE WILL!!! I know we will because the movement is gaining momentum and it is just a matter of time....Hopefully not too long � I’m considering holding another day in August, but maybe if I can organise it, it will be a protest march to Parliament House.
