Barely a fortnight after the last goonda mob attack on Borewell Road, Nallurhalli, this one comes a stones throw away on Nallurhalli Main Road.  

The twitter handle posting this has the suffix _WR, standing for membership of a claimed local citizens grouping. This group had sidestepped the issue the last time the goonda attack took place in Nallurhalli, not taking a principled stand on it.  Many warned then that it would come back to bite them, that they would wake up the day the goons land up at their doorsteps!  Karma seems quick!?

Now that one of their own have suffered, the group has finally reacted with a twitter post on this issue:  https://x.com/WFRising/status/1870719605007954057 

It is shameful that we wait for problems to show up at our doorsteps to wake up to them!

First they came for the Communists

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me 

Meanwhile, it is very worrying that in both instances, the Police just stood by when a group of ruffians invade a private property.  What ties the hands of the police?  This needs a thorough investigation by higher officials or the Karnataka Police Commiserate and Police top brass!  The Home Minister needs to conduct an enquiry. 

Also note how in both cases, the groups used the excuse of disputed court orders.  If people have to be worried about the possession of their own properties, who wil invest in Bengaluru? 

Since it involves the image of #BrandBengaluru even the Chief Minister and the Bengaluru Development Minister need to be concerned, and push for action. 

We need to recognise the signs early and prevent repeat of history.  We cannot allow lawlessness in any manner.  

Our democracy rests on the pillars of Constitutionality and the Rule of Law.  If these pillars are violated, we won't have a civilised society left, there will be total anarchy!

Today it is individual sites, tomorrow goons will land up in elite gated communities, if civil society sits idly as mute spectators.  It is time these elite who control civic groups shake themselves out of their hubris and wake up to the increasing lawlessness all around them!  

Or else, Bengaluru will be buried under a mafia state in no time! 

Arise, Awake.... oh fellow Indians....  before it's too late.
