Children are being put at risk daily due to the neglect of St. Lucie County Public School Transportation. Children are not being picked up from their stops, picked up/dropped off unreasonably late to/from their stops, and being let off at the wrong stops all together. Parents are not notified of delays or cancellations often leaving children alone at the stops and without a way to get home or contact their parents (most children, especially the younger ones, don’t have cell phones). When parents try to contact transportation they are given inaccurate information or no answer at all. Often parents are yelled at and/or laughed at, placed on hold, and then hung up on by SLCPS transportation employees. This needs to be addressed and changed before a child suffers dire consequences due to SLCPS neglect to properly assume responsibility for their students.
