Dear supporter,
We wanted to give you a quick update on the current position on our Scout HQ. Negotiations are still continuing with the Parish Council over the lease and we continue to be hugely grateful for your tremendous support in this matter.
A building survey has now been completed outlining some suggested areas for repair and maintenance of the building and we will be proposing a clear schedule of works that we are prepared to commit to as part of securing a long term lease for the Scout Group. We have the support of nearly 9,000 people both locally and further afield and once we have discussed the proposal with the Parish Council in October we will be in a position to update you further.
Thank you for your continued interest in our cause. We are determined to ensure that Scouting can continue to operate for the benefit of young people across the Parish of Colney Heath, Highfield and further afield.
In the meantime we are posting a wonderful link of an original cine film of the Scout HQ being built by volunteers, Scouts and Guides from the local community back in the late 70's. Given the current situation and our eviction from the HQ it makes very poignant viewing and gives us another reason (not that we needed one) to ensure that we do everything possible to resolve this sorry affair.
Very best wishes and many thanks to you all,
Colney Heath Scout Group
