The SRVUSD Superintendent wishes to take a path of "Personalized Learning Flexibility" which unfortunately results in the lack of students being able to make an academic choice to take a seventh period, and are limited to six periods maximum. This seems to bring about the issue regarding art students in the district having the lack of freedom to do what they love, experience lifelong benefits of performing/visual arts, and to be able to express themselves through a hobby and/or talent during their school day. The choice of taking a seventh period allows those involved in art to continue pursuing their passion in their school day and this possibility of a limit to only six periods may jeopardize that crucial freedom.  If you'd like to help continue the freedom and benefit of the choice of having a seven period day and allowing SRVUSD art students to continue to do what makes them happy within their school day, please sign here.
