Thanks to all my signatures and supporters of this petition.
We are slowly progressing towards change.
This November, we wish to recognize as we celebrate Thanksgiving, this is a season of understanding and empathy.
Unrelated to this petition, there are fights against racial injustices, with hopes that 2021 will be the time to unite. As it relates to this petition, for the first time ever, more diversified groups are speaking up louder than ever.
This is remarkable progress for the groups that have been silenced throughout history, but many artists regardless of color, still have pay cuts as the fight continues for equality for artists.
While a petition for anti-racism is underway and highly supported right now, there is a slight difference between anti-discriminatiom efforts.
Discrimination happens to anyone who is not only employed, although employment is a common area, it happens to anyone regardless or race, sex, disability or other protected classes.
The petitioner is one of those protected classes, and although he doesn't let his disabilities define his work, it is a challenge to endure significant hours without pay to produce music or other services for the benefit of the general public.
That being said, the overall message is several thousand artists (if not millions) are discriminated against and few notice except them.
I want to share this message of support that there should be no competition between individuals and what their rights should be.
Last, as a collective for both underrepresented artists, regardless of who they are or what they may encounter, this month you can make a difference by signing this petition.
As a final note, I wish to recognize everyone on a general level with this article and request during this season, to think about what you appreciate.
Thank You
