MWIS under the leadership of Geoff Monk over the past 13 years

The Mountain Weather Information Service (led by Geoff Monk) is a non-profit making forecasting service that has been providing detailed mountain forecasts for the last 13 years.
MWIS is recognised as a unique, highly trusted source of quality mountain weather safety information: the forecasts receive several million hits a year, and MWIS was judged "overwhelmingly the forecast of choice" by 2,000 mountain users in a 2015 SportScotland survey.

In short MWIS has provided a valuable and life saving service whereby the outdoor community ranging from Sunday outing walkers to technical adventurers have been able to make decisions of safety based on the weather information supplied. If the closure of this site goes ahead we will lose the most user friendly and technically accurate forecast system for mountain environments. Please don't let this happen.
