In 2014 the Croatian Split Zoo located on the mount Marjan hill said it was to close down and relocate the animals to a safer and cleaner environment. I have recently visited and found out however that the zoo is still in operation (2018) and has changed its name to the Split National Science museum and Zoo. The fact that they claim to have 450 animals living in these overly cramped disgusting and filthy conditions is appalling.

There have been multitudes of reports commenting on the animals suffering from people who have visited the Zoo. One person wrote on trip advisor that it was "A prison for animals" and that the animals looked depressed. One visitor commented on the food being old and mouldy in the cages and that the water clearly hadn't been changed in some time for the animals imprisoned there.

Please help to get it closed down once and for all and enable the animals to have the lives they deserve no animal deserves to suffer in these disgusting conditions.
