Fantastic work everyone!! We are well and truly on our way to getting noticed! Please continue to sign and share.
In the Evening Standard yesterday there was an interesting article about London expanding - http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/london-might-have-to-be-expanded-to-swallow-up-commuter-belt-towns-such-as-epsom-spelthorne-and-three-rivers-9707887.html?origin=internalSearch
The fact of the matter is, London boundaries are expanding, whether we like it or not. Staines and Ashford are within the M25, so one day we will be classed as London. The term 'Middlesex' is getting used less because London and Surrey counties are taking over.
There is so much development in and around the area such as the huge amount of flats being built in Ashford and Staines. The Home section in the Evening Standard said a few weeks ago that 'clever people buy property in Spelthorne', of course they are right! Being classed within the Zones of London Transport will add value to our property and lessen our travel fare - which essentially what this petition is all about - hence the large amount of people signing it. Of course, it will also affect the cost of the ticket further down the line too. So please continue to share and hopefully our aim to get this changed by January (when fares are set to increase again) will be possible!
