Update on Kateryna Vakarova’s Case

Thank you to everyone who signed and supported this petition. Your voices and compassion have meant so much.

We want to share an important update: according to official reports, Kateryna is not facing the death penalty. Instead, she has been charged under Indonesia’s narcotics law with offenses that carry a maximum of 5–20 years imprisonment.

Because of this, the original purpose of this petition — to prevent her execution — is no longer necessary. While her situation remains very serious, the risk of capital punishment is not part of her case at this time.

For that reason, we will be closing this petition. Thank you again for standing with us — your support helped shine a light on her case, and ensured the world was watching when it mattered most.
