Beluga Dies Just Three Weeks After Arriving at Spanish Aquarium
Jelly Bean is dead. The 19-year-old beluga was transferred from a closed Canadian marine park to the Oceanogràfic aquarium in Valencia on the 27th August. Just three weeks later, she has died. The aquarium says Jelly Bean had developed difficulties eating in recent days before dying suddenly. Her cause of death is not yet known and a necropsy will now be carried out. Jelly Bean should never have spent her life in captivity.
Spain continues to allow whales and dolphins to be confined for human entertainment, even as other countries move away from the industry. Please keep signing and sharing our petition demanding Spain ends dolphin and whale captivity.
