Traffic between Kanyakumari district and Chennai is on the rise. Supply does not meet demand. There has not been a daily train introduced between Kanyakumari district and Chennai since 2002. The existing two daily night trains between Kanyakumari district and Chennai run with huge waiting list. Hence, there is a need to operate a new daily night train to Chennai. May this train be introduced between Nagercoil and Chennai Central, via Madurai, Namakkal, Salem.
