Georgia Power has filed to surrender the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) license and to remove the dams.

Removal of these dams will demolish a thriving shoal bass population and other river life due to the reduction of water. This area also has an abundant water activity community. The reduction of water flow will destroy the river life population and reduce the recreational use of the river.
