PLEASE SEE UPDATE-Say NO to 100 house dev't Chainhouse Lane, Whitestake Nr Lostock Hall
The Issue
Wainhomes have made an application to build some 100 houses in the rural countryside in Whitestake.
We want to show South Ribble Borough Council that we do not want or need another 100 houses being built on land which was Green Belt. At present this piece of land is being used as agricultural land. In South Ribble and especially around Leyland, Farington, Lostock Hall and now Whitestake along with surrounding villages, it appears SRBC is determined to use our green and pleasant land to build homes and cover it with concrete.
The powers that be try to tell us we need these extra homes when in fact with all the house building that is already in progress or has been passed for development along with the homes already available for sale or rent within the area, there is no actual need for more.
It is destroying our flora and fauna and we so often hear from experts how we are losing our wild life, certain birds and creatures are becoming extinct or fast declining. They are suffering from the destruction and environmental vandalism of the land.
We are slowly poisoning ourselves with the air pollution already above the acceptable levels within the area. The roads are gridlock at peak times within the Tardy Gate area and leading to the motorway system. There are no shops within easy walking distance so cars will be used therefore adding a further approx. 300 cars travelling the country lanes. Even the surrounding A roads are already congested.
There is no local GP’s or Dentist in the immediate area and those in Tardy Gate are already overstretched with people having to travel in excess of 10 miles or more.
The lets build more houses motto does not match the infrastructure available to accommodate everyone. Especially as the population is decreasing and not increasing. So why are we continuing to cover the green fields with concrete? This development must be stopped for future generations.
We want to stop Wainhomes from developing 100 houses and for more information please go to our facebook page and join us and ‘Say No to Chainhouse Lane Development’ https://www.facebook.com/groups/2108968292475293/
