ACTION Tomorrow, February 13th: S. Orange VOTES on Sanctuary Resolution

South Orange is voting on a sanctuary city resolution (Note: the draft resolution*** does not use "sanctuary" terminology) on MONDAY NIGHT, 8PM, FEBRUARY 13th @ SOPAC. ACTION: Let's PACK SOPAC! Meet up at 7:40PM on 2/13 right outside of the SOPAC entrance, 1 SOPAC Way, South Orange (on the parking lot side) for a show of support!! Bring your signs and voices!! We will chant in support of welcoming and protecting every resident of our town!! We will then head into the meeting and PACK SOPAC!! Details: We hope to see a draft resolution so we are able to analyze the actual language proposed and comment on it directly - still waiting on that draft and will send out as soon as we get it. *We must hold South Orange to a high standard in terms of the protections guaranteed in the resolution!! *We must continue to support South Orange in its efforts to join the hundreds of sanctuary cities across the country!! Note: we have heard that there will be folks speaking up against any resolution of the kind, and we MUST continue to put pressure and show our support! So, let's PACK SOPAC in support of a sanctuary resolution. Hope to see you there! ***To see a copy of the draft resolution, please visit http://somaaction.org/from-sheena-collum-draft-south-orange-welcoming-city-resolution/
