Save Rocking Horse Nursery in Warmley

Save Rocking Horse Nursery in Warmley

The Issue

Rocking Horse Day Nursery in Warmley has provided a vital childcare service for families in South Gloucestershire for over quarter of a century now. Employing around 20 members of staff at its premises on the site of the old Grange School, it is home to almost 70 babies, toddlers and pre-school children.

The nursery owners have been handed notice to leave the premises by December 2016 as South Gloucestershire Council wishes to reclaim the land.

Over the past 25 years, the staff and children have worked hard to develop the nursery into a vibrant and welcoming environment, investing in great outdoor facilities too. This site is its home.

The ‘Save Our Nursery’ campaign aims to secure the future of this important community asset, in its current guise, not only for the families of children currently enjoying the nursery - but also for future generations of children.

We the undersigned urge South Gloucestershire Council to reconsider their position on this.

15/02/17 UPDATE: We are grateful to the council for extending our notice period to July 2017 and are now trying to secure s move to new premises. Thanks to everyone for your support - we couldn't have done this without you. It's not quite over yet, but we're hopeful we can now #SaveRockingHorseNursery
