We would appreciate some answers with regard to this media report.
It is common knowledge that the USA, China, Hong Kong and the UK have or are in the process of shutting their ivory markets down. It is common knowledge that legal ivory markets are fueling the continued poaching of elephants in Africa.
For years there have been rumors with regards to the Zimbabwean ivory stockpile and how it has been raided by the leaders of the ruling party to service their own personal needs.
Zimbabwe is currently facing a humanitarian crisis, surely until these rumors can be substantiated why would any politician risk their reputation by commenting on or supporting further discussion on the Zimbabwean ivory stockpile?
