There are head-hand smack moments in this post…

1. If you find any animal- fat, not fat, dirty, clean and are in Minot City limits: CONTACT ANIMAL CONTROL They have chip scanners and have the legal authority in the city limits to help that animal find their owner if they have one. Please do not leave the animal on the street to fend for itself especially in the cold months. 
2. Many of us Minot and ND residents are banned/blocked from SVAS community pages. Also, many of us that are blocked are the MAIN boots on the ground animal rescuers in Minot. So them posting on their pages is not really going to help communicate anything to these people. Please post lost animals on ALL of the community pages, so that ALL the rescuers in the area can see it. 
3. If you are outside of city limits, contact Ward County sheriffs department and Souris Valley Animal Shelter to let them know you have found an animal. Souris Valley Animal Shelter has the contract for Ward County lost/found/stray. They should arrange transport or tell you what you need to do with animal. Please post these animals on ALL social media sites as well. (Good luck with these suggestions on #3 as IYKYK)
