Some 3,000 of your friends and neighbors have viewed our petition, and already 130 have signed it! Almost 2800 homeowners are at risk of higher Flood Insurance costs—all due to bungling by Town administrators. Twenty two thousand property owners face higher taxes to pay for this mess. The latest reason we were told as to why this problem wasn’t addressed was “we asked FEMA for more time to get public input, because we’re in the middle of preparing a budget(sic), and they refused ( FEMA has only waited six years)!”
WHAT?? The town has prepared SEVEN (7) Annual Budgets since they were notified by FEMA that they were in violation! Seven budgets prepared, and not a word to the taxpayers that they are at risk of insurance cost increases of 10,15,20 percent— because your town failed to meet it’s agreement in re-building Penfield!
Seven Annual Budgets prepared by the town and not a word that the taxpayers are on the hook to either tear down a beautiful structure or re-do the entire foundation according to acceptable plans (like follow the original, approved, plan?).
Please send this petition link to your friends, neighbors, property owners, business owners— anybody who is tired of the stories, tired of the wasted money, tired of doing things wrong ( the let’s just get it done! Attitude), and does not want to put their homes, mortgages, and beachfronts in jeopardy!
thank-you!
