Welcome to Sony Video and Sound Online Chat Support. My name is Sandra. Please allow me a moment to review your concern.

The only 2015 C series of the Sony TVs already have a firmware update, what is going on with the D series? People using the 850C (930C) already upgraded their firmware and it fixed their input lag problems with gaming. When is this FINALLY going to arrive to the D series??? Its been a year to fix this

 Sandra (C9EB): 8:59:55 AM
I understand your concern, you want to know when the firmware on the D-series would be released to fix the input lag issues. Am I correct?

 You: 9:00:21 AM
yes

 Sandra (C9EB): 9:00:59 AM
Thank you for the confirmation.

 Sandra (C9EB): 9:04:10 AM
I understand that it has been very long time and till the update is not released on the D-series models, but please be assured that the update will be definitely released on the D-series models, our engineering team is working on this it is taking time because they are checking with the interface of the TV needs and support, but once we have the information regarding the release date it will be updated on the Sony websites, please be assured.

I know it will come, actually I have known that for over a year

 You: 9:05:01 AM
My point is, we customers are kept in the dark!

 You: 9:05:24 AM
Whenever Sony announces the update, the AndroidTV OS will be one year behind AGAIN

 Sandra (C9EB): 9:06:47 AM
I really apologize, I can understand how it would be as a customer, as of now there is no ETA the process is still going on and it be released very soon.

 You: 9:07:18 AM
"it will be released very soon" I got that answer in November of 2015

 You: 9:08:11 AM
Please, can you escalate this issue to upper management at Sony? This is really bad

 Sandra (C9EB): 9:09:27 AM
As you know your TV is a 2016 model, please be patient we value our customers requirements and we are really working hard on this issue to be fixed with the firmware update.

 Sandra (C9EB): 9:10:22 AM
However, I would be happy to take this as feedback and forward it to our concerned team to escalate this issue.

 You: 9:11:33 AM
Exactly, my TV was released in Feb of 2016 - since Feb 2016 I have issues with my TV and that restrain my usage of it. If Sony keeps delaying the fix it delays the full potential of usage of my TV - that really ****** off any customer

 Sandra (C9EB): 9:14:03 AM
I understand that you're disappointed, but keep a trust on us that we are really working on it to fix the issue with no other complications that's the reason it is taking long time.

 You: 9:15:04 AM
Is there a place where I can open a formal complaint against Sony on this matter?

 Sandra (C9EB): 9:16:21 AM
Yes, you can post your own comments on our Sony community, so that our concerned customers relations team will escalate this issue.

 You: 9:17:17 AM
I already did!!! But there is no effect on how Sony moves forward

Sony need to be open about roadmaps of future versions of the firmware and androidtvOS and at least have a time frame

 Sandra (C9EB): 9:21:24 AM
We are receiving many customers regarding this issue, I can understand that it is hard to wait for the update for a year, all I can do is now I would pass this information to our concerned team and inform them to escalate this faster if possible.
