The poll question is:  Do you think the Sonoma Valley Cannabis Group should continue the pursuit for a second dispensary in Sonoma?

YES, NO, Your own suggestion.

The reason for the poll is because we seem to be at an impasse. There are more strategies and tactics that could be employed to pressure the Sonoma City Council to move forward sooner. But, if the will among SVCG members and the general public to pursue the issue isn't strong enough, it's very possible there will never be a second dispensary in Sonoma.

Here is the background:

• Last September, Erich Pearson of sparc deliberately distorted the truth to the Sonoma City Council regarding his financial situation. Mr Pearson pleaded poverty and asked the council to delay the RFP for a second dispensary for another year.
• Two months later, based on Pearson's suspect request, the Sonoma City Council agreed to stop the second dispensary process for at least 12 months. There is no credible reason to believe that the Sonoma City Council will move the process forward, even after one year.
• Contrary to his claim to the city council that he was experiencing financial difficulties, Pearson just opened a brand-new dispensary on Polk Street in San Francisco.
• The Sonoma City Council has clearly been played. In doing so, it is now supporting a city-sponsored monopoly that not only deprives medical patients and consumers a competitive market with better prices and products, but also helps protect the black market.
• During the meeting at which the council decided to table the process, various council members misrepresented and distorted facts in order to support its decision.
• Though we called the city council to account for its misrepresentations of reality to the public in our last email and comment, no council member has showed us the professional courtesy or respect to respond.
