Great news! I received a call from the Sonoma County Office of Education superintendents office recognizing the petition, recognizing the concern. They were unaware that there are schools in the district that did not prepare properly for classrooms and schools for the return of the students. They would like to meet with me and while the superintendent schedule is usually 3 to 4 weeks out they are arranging to meet with me tomorrow.
In addition a Santa Rosa School District Board Member would like to meet as soon as possible! Scheduled for tomorrow too.
I am reaching out to Senator Mike McGuire as well.
The SCOE superintendents office said they were unaware districts have not prepared the classrooms and schools general space for the return of the students and educators. I said that is NOT OK, that it is their job to take preventative measures. That they set an index so high and pushed our students back into an unsafe and unhealthy environment.
