Solihull Community Amateur Boxing Club has been part of the community for over half a century and is now facing closure due to our current site being closed down by Solihull Council.
The club is run on an entirely voluntary basis, open 4 nights a week to children and adults of varying ages and has as many as 50 members at one time. It helps to get children and young adults off the streets and teach them a sport of discipline, respect, fairness and friendship. We have helped young asylum seekers in the area and members of the travelling community establish friendships through their involvement with us and find a constructive way to use their time.
As a result of the councils decision to evict our club Sport England have placed a hold on spending of funds allocated to us for the purchase of equipment.
We want the council to reconsider their position of evicting our club, give us the opportunity to keep the centre, not only for the club but also for its members both current and future, for the children, young adults and adults who all use the club and most of all for the community, because without this we would be giving up on so many great individuals who are all developing, learning and inspiring themselves and each other.
Please help to save our club! Sign the petition and help to get our voice heard. We need to keep our community sport, our community spirit and our community club.
