Despite the catastrophic violence that continues to unfold in Gaza, we are in awe of the amount of support and recognition that this petition has received. The humanity that each one of us has collectively shared has been heartwarming to see and enabled Apartheid off Loughborough to take the next step.
We have sent an open letter to Loughborough University's senior managers regarding the attack on academic freedom of speech and Loughborough University's business ties with Caterpillar, JCB and BAE Systems.

Please feel free to share this open letter. We have disclosed our transparency to senior managers about hosting our communications correspondence on this platform.
Our concerns about the attack on academic freedom of speech are deeply concerning since our petition has mainly been shared by word of mouth with a few LSU committees and Loughborough University individuals sharing on their social media platforms. We have had our petitions taken down on campus and have seen reports of silencing from Loughborough University classrooms to student-led spaces.
We remain hopeful for a favourable response that chooses humanity over business.
