Details on the Rule Change Process

5 sept. 2017 — EDIT: I sent the link of the petition to the CEO of Softball Canada and upon reading the preamble he clarified a few details with respect to the rule change process: 1. He wanted to receive the particulars of the petition from me by September 25th as the board meeting is taking place on September 29th and he wanted the board to have the opportunity to review it well in advance. 2. At the board meeting, the board will discuss the issue and look at any recommendations they *might* want to propose to the members at their 2017 AGM which takes place in early November. 3. Rule changes, which are voted on by each provincial/territorial member, take place every two years. The next rule change review was scheduled for the 2018 AGM (presumably November 2018), but they are currently looking at how they *might* be able to accommodate a motion for the issue at their 2017 AGM in November. This is all the more reason to share this petition with our families and friends and raise awareness about the absolute need and importance of this rule being implemented sooner than later because another full ball season without this rule, and people's lives being at risk is far too long.
