Hi everyone, good news!

I’ve just received a message from the National Commission for Commission confirming an appointment with the Chairperson Ms. Rekha Sharma. I’m so excited and a tad nervous. This is my chance to persuade the Government to amend the Maternity Benefits Law to make it more friendly to adoptive parents and children.

As the media reported, the NCW organised a meeting with law experts to identify and address the gaps in this law. The experts made recommendations that help working women. I believe adoptive parents are important stakeholders as well. I am confident of making a fervent appeal thanks to the 40,000 of you who have supported my campaign. As more and more people sign, it will create a groundswell of public opinion in favour of amending the law to make it more conducive to the needs of adopted children and their new parents.
