Sky's 'pathetic' response, therefore, we now must report Kay Burley to Ofcom!
- Below is the response from Sky News, it is pathetic.
"Kay Burley raised the example of Simon Weston as part of a live studio discussion to challenge the interviewee’s suggestion that it is important to look at people’s faces to be able to see their expressions to gauge their responses in conversation.
It was intended to be an example of someone who for reasons beyond their control may not easily be able to show facial expression to ascertain whether the interviewee’s concerns extended beyond those covering their faces for religious reasons. There was no criticism of Simon Weston by Kay or the interviewee" - Sky's response
- What can you do now? Complain directly to Ofcom and get Kay Burley investigated and punished!

"I would like to officially report Kay Burley her awful and offensive comparison she used during her Sky News interview with Andrew Bridge MP.
Kay Burley made a bizarre and horrible comparison that Simon's face is similar to that of a person wearing a burqa. This remark is deeply offensive, suggesting that Simon has no facial expressions and is comparable to that of a Burqa which to many is an oppressive garment.
Simon is a hero to this nation, he has served his country and his facial disfigurement is in no way comparable to something so controversial. Simon can be seen smiling, laughing and enjoying life- the comparison of his face to a Burqa is beyond ridiculous and is outright offensive.
Please take this forward as a formal complaint towards Kay Burley and investigate as necessary.
