FIVE THOUSAND (5,000) Signers Asking for a Reduction in Single-Use Plastic Bags in Edmonton

Thank you, everyone, that has signed this petition. Numbers matter. When our group gets to 10,000 signatures we will present it to the city council. Admittedly, there are many people that have signed this petition that do not live in Edmonton but it should not detract that there are many people that would like governments to do something about single-use plastics. All those people that live in Edmonton. Please write to your councillor and the mayor to let them know you want to see some mechanism brought in that would achieve a significant reduction in single-use plastic use. You can also do lots in your daily life - please avoid single-use plastic like shopping bags (take your own), take your own containers to your local store and refill from the bulk bins, pack along reusable containers and cutlery when you go out to eat or a festival, etc. Role model a plastic reduced life.
