We are so very proud to share that The Survivors Trust is now supporting our campaign to change the law on how elderly sex offenders with dementia are dealt with by the criminal justice system.

This support is incredibly meaningful to us. The Survivors Trust is one of the leading organisations supporting survivors of rape, sexual violence and abuse across the UK and Ireland, and their backing highlights just how important this issue is.

Our campaign was created because survivors like Simon, are all too often left without justice when an alleged offender develops dementia before their case can be heard in court. While dementia is a serious and complex condition, the current legal approach can leave survivors without acknowledgement, without answers, and without the opportunity to have their experiences recognised by the justice system.

Survivors deserve better.

With the support of The Survivors Trust, we are calling for a review and reform of the law so that cases involving elderly offenders with dementia are handled in a way that still recognises the harm caused and respects the rights and voices of survivors.

Justice should not simply disappear because time has passed or because a person becomes unfit to stand trial. Survivors still live with the impact of abuse every day, and they deserve to be heard.

We are deeply grateful for The Survivors Trust standing alongside us in this fight for change.

Please continue to support this campaign by encouraging family and friends to keep signing & sharing our petition. Every signature helps bring us closer to a system that treats survivors with the dignity, recognition and justice they deserve.

Thank you for standing with us

Simon & Maria
