Considering how important Fall Kickoff has been to improving student engagement at Simon Fraser University, we must find an alternative instead of cancelling the event outright.

According to the official SFSS statement, SFU has told them that September 21st and 28th has been booked by another group. They were given the option of holding it on a Thursday, but who wants that? No one wants to party knowing that they have to go back to school the following day.

For all we know, September 14th hasn't been suggested by the SFSS, and the date may be available. SFU and the SFSS understands that this event is important to its students, but needs a little push in the right direction. Let's show them we want this event back for 2018!
