Sikre adkomst til Plura Valley hele året - Ensure year-round access to Plura Valley
The Issue
------- English bellow ---------

English:
Divers travel from all over the world to experience Plura. Winter is a key part of the season, as visibility within the cave is often at its best. Jordbru is also home to residents who need a usable road year-round, as well as cabin owners and others seeking access to an area the municipality classifies as a "particularly important outdoor recreation area for the general public."
Rana Municipality intends to stop snow clearing and maintenance on the road between Tapperskar and Jordbru. Without snow clearing on the final 5 kilometers of Plurdalsveien, Plura Valley will be forced to suspend its regular winter operations. Residents of Jordbru could lose standard vehicle access during the winter months, and divers planning to visit Plura would no longer be able to reach the site as before.
The land where the road was built was expropriated without compensation because the benefit of a public road was deemed so significant. Now, the municipality treats the road as private, without having presented a formal decision indicating when—or if—that responsibility changed. Rana Municipality and the state-owned company Statkraft point fingers at one another, while the financial consequences fall upon those living along the road and those running businesses in Jordbru.
A solution that is truly "fair and sustainable" for residents must also work for those directly affected. We urge Rana Municipality to continue snow clearing and necessary maintenance while responsibility is clarified and a fair, sustainable solution is put in place.
Sign the petition to ensure Jordbru remains a place to live, and Plura a place divers can visit year-round.
