At a presentation by the North Branch Park Preserve on Wednesday June 27th, both Alderman Hopkins and Alderman Smith suggested that General Iron will be leaving "soon". We have heard that for the last 5 years so don't put much credence into this rumor. Nevertheless, having a public park replace General Iron seems like a good option. It appears that some public sector financing such as TIF will be required.
