An update from WKNR

Hi Supporters and Animal lovers!
We wanted to provide an update on our struggle to save orphaned kittens and pregnant cats. We have had a rough time over the last few months trying to continue to save kittens while dealing with stalking and harassment from members of our neighbourhood. We are still being harassed and stalked as it is not enough for them that we are leaving. They continue to call bylaw on us even though every accusation is false. It’s just a mean-spirited harassment tactic.
Throughout this very stressful time we have been helping save kittens through our foster program. Our wonderful fosters and volunteers have never given up and will continue to help the cats despite the hateful efforts of others to shut this life saving facility down. Although we had a lot of support from much of the community we did not win this fight.
We were not able to get our zone change and it was very clear from the start of the council meeting that minds had been made up even before the meeting. Many false statements were made and it was apparent that some members of the community had be stalking us on both our property and our social media. These animal haters are relentless but we have not given upon the many felines desperately needing help in our area. Good things happen to people trying to do good things! We believe all that has happened since the council meeting has been sent our way for a reason.
We have found a new property to build our nursery, however, we must now start from scratch as there is no base building on the new property. The house is also really rundown but we feel we can get it up to livable condition within a couple of months. We will be starting a nursery building campaign to help us put up this incredible facility where we can save orphaned kittens and pregnant cats that are so easily cast out in todays world. Our dream is to care for kittens and provide an educational facility where we can educate the public on the important of spay/neuter programs and to provide a loving space where people and kittens can meet each other for the social interactions that we so desperately need today.
Thank you all for speaking up for us! Your strong voices were heard! To continue your support and to follow our progress further please visit and like our Facebook Page and website.
