After almost a year, Kadri Gürsel, Cumhuriyet Consultant and Columnist and IPI Board Member, was released last night from Istanbul's Silivri prison, trial still pending. His wife, supporters, friends and our colleague Steven M. Ellis, were there to receive him. The other Cumhuriyet journalists are still in prison, and IPI together will other freedom of expression groups will continue to fight for their release. For now, let us enjoy this good news.
