It’s been awhile but I wanted to thank you for your support in calling for a sequel to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. We have over 2,300 signatures here on Change.org.  Here’s an update on where things stand.
 

Sadly, there’s no word or rumors about a sequel. Despite critical acclaim and winning best narrative at The Game Awards 2021. The game still didn’t meet Square Enix’s sales expectations. Since Embracer Group acquired Eidos-Montréal in 2022, there hasn’t been any indication of a chance of sequel. The last hint we got was from Senior Narrative Director Mary DeMarle in 2022, but I believe that was before the acquisition.   

Marvel Rivals recently released and has almost our entire gang on the roster. Missing Gamora, Drax, and possible Nebula. That being said Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot, Mantis, and Adam Warlock all appear as playable characters. Hopefully the success of rivals will bring some more attention to marvel gaming as whole and bring more people to Gotg. At the very least we should get some cosmetics from Gotg game into rivals. 

Your support is extremely appreciated. As new players find the game and eventually ask for a sequel. Remember to share the petition, I know it’s annoying and spammy at times but if you see someone asking about potential sequel it wouldn’t hurt. Maybe there a chance of someone higher up at marvel seeing this. And don’t forget to suggest Marvel’s guardians of the galaxy (2021) to players looking for more marvel games. Im sure that there’s going to be a lot players from marvel rivals looking for other marvel titles.
