A number of things have been happening behind the scenes with this strong campaign, and whilst juggling work priorities, my social networking and other personal interests, I have been extremely busy happily promoting it as much as I can. Last weekend, I was out and about at Kirribilli Markets and also at Circular Quay on both days having conversations with the community and engaging with as many people possible to support this movement by signing and getting pictures with the Aboriginal flag (see below). Majority of the responses have been positive (yay), which I believe as Australians it is a nice way of reiterating the fact that we acknowledge our Aboriginal culture, and that we are happy to move forward and unite as ONE nation. I have sent two letters to Glady's Berejiklian, requesting recognition of the letter sent and I have invited her to respond to the 30,000 of you to communicate her stance on the proposal. In the interim these are the things I will be doing to get more supporters on board to raise further awareness; - Heading to Byron bay Spirit Festival this weekend - Meeting with MP's in the hope to spark conversations into NSW Parliament - Engaging with the community after work hours, to get signatures - Facilitating an event with politicians invited in the hope to influence a decision - Continue media work Once I obtain 10,000 hardcopy signatures, I will be lodging the petition into NSW Parliament - I will keep you updated on the progress. There are many more ideas in the pipeline, but I would prefer to mention only a few that I have coming up.
