Our children’s future potential will be ripped away if we don’t help...

Eastside sports club has been a community for 12 years and it’s a place where our children can socialise, meet new people and play their favourite sports, which also helps them grow and develop. Due to lack of funding and poor facilities, our families are close to losing their sporting home.

We have been offered a solution by the team behind Yorkshire Energy Park (YEP). YEP is a potential development proposed for the land next to, and including, Eastside Sports club on Hedon Road. As part of this new development, they will create new community sports facilities that are sustainable to manage and give our club and our members the facilities they deserve.

BUT the solution is not just for our club. We're passionate about our community and we firmly believe that the YEP solution will benefit the wider area.

Yorkshire Energy Park means huge benefits to our community in the long term:
• It will create thousands of jobs (4,480!)

• It will improve long term career opportunities working with big, international brands in our area, for our children and future generations

• It will provide education opportunities and apprenticeships through partnerships with business on site and education providers that can set our children and grandchildren on a path to great things

• AND it will mean  more visitors in our towns, bringing their custom to our local businesses that need the support.

This proposed site is close to nationally important energy, sea, road and rail infrastructure with an international airport a short drive away. It is an ideal location for businesses looking for power and data resilience, links to research and development, reinforced by exceptionally strong transport infrastructure and access to a skilled workforce.

Unfortunately, there are people who don't see the potential of this opportunity  and we need to show them that it is needed and remind them about the benefits for the future generations.

Why should our children’s futures be compromised and not be regarded as equally important as others? This is where we need your help. You can help save our club and futureproof our local area! Sign our petition to say "YES" to Yorkshire Energy Park and secure the future of our sports club.
