Well here we go again! We got the very disheartening news that the owners of next door have taken the plans we fought so hard against to the Secretary of State for an appeal against the Councils decision. To clarify these are the exact plans that were brought before councillors last year that they unanimously refused. We had hoped that this wouldn’t happen but here we are. Once again we are asking for and desperately need some more of your amazing support that you gave us last year.

This time things are slightly different. Rather than going to a committee meeting and being able to stand and speak this is all done over writing and somewhat behind closed doors. So what we desperately need is for written representations to be made to the planning inspectorate and I will outline the best way to do this at the bottom of the post. This is separate to any objections made previously on the council’s website so if you did it before we please need you to do it again!

To place your written representation please follow these steps:

⁃ Firstly copy this case reference. It is 3343603. This will mean you don’t have to come back this page once you’re on the website.
⁃ Then go to https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk
⁃ Once on the website enter the case reference above in to the “search for a case”. box.
⁃ Once you’re on this page you will then see the “make representation”.

Once you’ve done this there’s some information to fill out and then ultimately you will be able to place your representation. This is much the same as on objection on any planning application. However there are some points that carry more weight than others. Examples of these are:

- The impact on the character and setting of the grade II listed building;
- The impact of the development on visual amenity of the local area/ Conservation Area;
- The Impact on neighbouring amenity in respect of overbearing development, loss of light and outlook; and
- The potential adverse impact on the operation of the pub in terms of noise complaints and potential restrictions on the business.

The more representations made in support of the original decision of refusal will strengthen our case so much so please take the time to do this. We are and will be forever grateful.

That’s all for now. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for helping us, it means more than you could know!

Big love,
The Albert family!x
