Shut down Pornhub petition update

Laila Mickelwait and

Apr 25, 2020 —

Our petition has sailed past 840,000 signatures, with signers in 183 countries, and we are well on our way to reaching one million soon. Over 250 organizations have endorsed the Traffickinghub campaign calling for Pornhub to be shut down, based on overwhelming evidence of their complicity in the mass rape and sex trafficking of women and children.

In the last nine weeks since it began, the campaign has been covered in over 200 media articles in 35 countries and counting. Multiple documentarians have taken interest in producing a film on the subject of this campaign.

As we continue to gain visibility in the media, victims are coming forward who have been abused on the world’s largest and most popular porn website. If you or someone you know has been a victim of Pornhub or MindGeek, the company that owns Pornhub, you can reach out to us via our contact form here

In recent days, Pornhub has launched an aggressive defense in the media to blatantly deny the irrefutable evidence of rape and sex trafficking on the site, engaging in ad hominem attacks to try and deflect from the proof of their guilt. Recently, MindGeek’s CEO Feras Antoon even began to follow me on Twitter

It is clear that Pornhub and MindGeek’s executives are getting concerned about our growing movement, which will not relent until Pornhub has been fully exposed and shut down.

As hundreds of thousands around the globe are becoming aware of these atrocities going on in plain sight, an international movement is emerging to hold Pornhub accountable. Activists are taking their own initiative, creating videos, artwork, and engaging in powerful social media advocacy. I encourage you to continue using your voice, skills, and whatever means you have to keep raising awareness. Your voice is crucial to this movement! Use the hashtag #Traffickinghub so we can collectively support and share each other’s advocacy efforts.

Together we WILL shut it down!

Until we prevail,

Laila Mickelwait
Traffickinghub Campaign Founder
Director of Abolition, Exodus Cry
