We have incredible news to share — the person who adopted Mitch has officially signed our petition and left a comment. This is a major moment in our efforts and a powerful reminder that we’re being heard.

If you have not had the chance to view it: 

“I just adopted a kitten this weekend with this “rescue”. Upon entering, the first cat I noticed was Mitch. He was completely wet sitting in a cage and was barely moving. Now Mitch has white fur on all 4 paws. His feet were so infested with fecal matter his white fur was completely orange… even though they had “just bathed him” minutes ago. When I asked about it, they stated he had an accident on the way in. I took him out and he just melted into my arms, waiting for someone to save him. At that point I could not leave him there. I put him on the floor to see if there were any other issues and noticed he would not put any weight on one of his back paws, when I asked them they stated they had no idea what was with him. I picked him up and took a look, all 4 paws were completely raw and bright red. 100% due to the neglect and terrible sanitation methods. I brought him home and bathed him immediately, in order to clean the skin and put an end to the irritation. He had fecal matter embedded into the pockets of his toes. It took 3 washes to get him to look white again. Not to mention, when I asked if there were any known health issues past or current they stated no. Then I take a look at the packet they gave me and there a whole bunch of medications he was on and illness they did not disclose. Laying 280$ for a kitten, you would think they would tell you about every and any little thing. I am typically a huge researcher and something sat uneasy with me so I decided to just google “lost paws rescue” and I quickly found MANY threads and petitions to shut them down. Now I’m alarmed, did I just support this terrible institution? This neglect? What is pushing me to write is the fact that my “Mitch” is the kitten onthe cover of this petition! The Tuxedo with dirty orange paws! This alone tells me he was like this for DAYS!! while reviewing these comments I come across one that’s from a former foster of there’s talking about my Mitch and how terrible the conditions are at this rescue. They need to be shut down immediately! They are not who they say they are! Be careful out there. Do research before you pay and rescue please.”

When those directly impacted by these situations come forward, it shows just how urgent and real this issue is. It means that we’re not just speaking out — we're making a difference.
