After we launched our petition earlier this to rally commitment to providing an appropriate and safe facilities for our soccer club and wider community the Derwent Valley Council in conjunction will Brian Mitchell (Federal Member for Lyons) made a commitment to providing $5 million of funding for the development of both the Boyer oval pavilion and the upgrade of the toilet block at Tynwald park to serve both the New Norfolk Panthers Soccer club and community
Since the announcement in early October that funding had been secured, we have attempted to engage in discussions with the Council as to how to fairly utilise the funding. To date, we have not been successful with our engagements.
Recently, the Derwent Valley Council announced that our Soccer Club was involved in the development of another facility however "chose not to be involved", this is a gross misrepresentation of the facts as the facility does not serve our club and is in fact at the far end of Tynwald Park.
