On November 28 2017 a Polk County Deputy responded to a call at our residence for a possible break in. (My 13 year old was home and heard our maintenance man outside and called myself and 911) we didn’t know he was on the property! The first deputy responded and was petting our beautiful Pitbull mix and the second came on scene and shot her 7 times (5 hit her body including I’m assuming the first shot that killed her to the head) The Deputy claims she was aggressive (Sasha has never even shown her teeth and barely barked) we raised her from birth and know for a proven fact she was not being aggressive in anyway! Police need better training and this one may need a few days off! Also after killing our dog we were treated with anger and disrespect (including my children who were unable to be consoled and were just truly devastated) please help get the word out to save our fur babies from this! Thank you and God bless! What this petition is hopefully going to do is change the way the police handle situations when they are confronted by our fur babies!
