On Saturday nights for at least the past 10 years, Illusions Night Club has opened up to people over 25 years old (average age probably 45), for a night of dancing and socializing. Illusions is the only place in the area that caters to this clientele. Many people have developed lasting friendships, some have married and still return weekly as they enjoy the people and atmosphere.
Last year the organization that ran Illusions left, sent an email to all on his client list saying Illusions closed, when in fact it did not close and the Sheraton kept it open. They kept it open but chose to not advertise, to not tell anyone Illusions remained open and now wonder why the business has dropped off. While there are people who still come, many more are unaware they are open or even such a great place exists. People travel from at least NYC, Westchester, Orange and Rockland counties, NY; and Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Essex, Union, Sussex, Morris counties, NJ. There are patrons who rent rooms to stay in the hotel overnight to avoid driving after a few drinks or to make it a romantic get away with dancing.
Many of the Saturday night weddings come into Illusions after their event has ended to continue their celebration; imagine the surprise of the newly married couple who plan on going to Illusions for their after party to now have no place to go.
Please keep Illusions open. Advertise, bring the crowd back, there is a great opportunity to grow this business if just a little effort is put into it.
Please sign this petition for everyone who enjoys dancing, socializing, making new friends for the over 25 (average age 45) group….some day you may be in this group too. Thanks.
The last date for Illusions is February 9, 2013 unless we can make a difference to keep it open.
