Dear Supporters Amey have now fully arrived in Nether Edge the lighting is nearly done, the drains are being replaced. Next it's the trees. If you live on any of our beautiful tree-lined streets, any day now you will receive a letter from the Council inviting you to go online and participate in a survey about tree removal on your street. Look out for its arrival, as in areas previously surveyed the letters came in plain brown envelopes and could easily be mistaken for junk mail. The roads currently being surveyed are Agden Road Albany Road Chippinghouse Road Crescent Road Kenbourne Road Kenwood Park Road Kenwood Road Milton Road Rundle Road Ryle Road St Ronan's Road Steade Road Thornsett Road Wath Road Woodstock Road The timeframe for completing the survey is very short, so don't delay! It is very important that you participate to show the Council the strength of feeling in the neighbourhood and to win a temporary reprieve for our trees so that we can continue to enjoy the huge number of benefits that they bring. If you make your feelings known you can have an effect. Some Successes Local people have twice now been successful in preventing Amey felling in this area when residents stood beside a tree and prevented work commencing. On two occasions the Police were called, but their conclusion, after consulting with their crowd control department, was that people were not causing a disturbance so were not asked to move on. Amey had no option but to pack up and go away, for the time being at least. If you want to defend your trees it IS possible. As Amey get closer to our majestic limes we need to prepare to defend them just by being there and refusing to move. If you live on a tree lined street you are best placed to help so if you haven't done so already please sign up to help with NVDA here https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdaCONJ-lr5IG2SUkFZFiqwRLqyCLu9qo0hlB-WBuGVgqczIA/viewform?c=0&w=1&usp=send_form Amey Roadshows are happening in Nether Edge today and tomorrow.
