The novelist, playwrite, and essayist James Baldwin was born in New York City where he preached at his local church called Firestone Pentecostal.
His first critically acclaimed novel Go Tell It on the Mountain was his first work published.
He influenced children with lots of education in his later life and involved the 1950's Civil Rights movement in America.
