Headspace support centres provide help for issues relating to mental health impacting young people aged between 12 and 25 years of age. There are 107 Headspace centres nationwide, with 3 in the Gippsland area. These centres are in East Gippsland, Latrobe Shire and Bass Coast. In the Wellington Shire, 28% of the population fits this age group. This figure is higher than both East Gippsland and Bass Coast, where a new Headspace support centre has recently opened.

Whilst not all of the people within this age group will experience mental health issues, the number of young people requiring access to mental health services is growing steadily. Professional help can be costly and sometimes difficult to access, whilst Headspace support centre services are free and available to assist young people easily. 

We are asking you to help us to petition the Federal Government to provide a Headspace centre in Sale, for the young people of Wellington Shire to access when needed. This petition will be presented to local Federal Member, Darren Chester.
