Good Morning Supporters,
A huge thank you to everyone who has signed the petition, shared it, left comments, and especially those who have donated money to change.Org in order to promote this incredibly important and valid mission.
I'm asking those who can afford to, please donate a few dollars to continue promoting this petition. As most of you are already aware, this disastrous event has gone viral. It's going to take thousands of signatures to meet our goal, which is to force Virginia Beach City officials to ban this event and any like it in the future! Cities in California and Florida have already created laws in order to prevent floatopia from furthering destruction to their environment. Virginia Beach needs to get with the program and follow suit!
I am super pleased to announce that our petition was included in this morning's Virginian-Pilot, by staff writer Alissa Skelton, on the second page in a lengthly article. Hopefully that mention of our petition will bring in thousands of signatures, because that's what it's going to take to force Virginia Beach City officials to ban and can floatopia once and for all! That is the ONLY acceptable outcome! They've had plenty of years to get this right and have failed miserably, that goes for the city officials, event-goers and lame organizers.
My biggest supporter and only cheerleader in this fight, Robin Wrenn-Fiore said, "The dolphins swim in our backyard, osprey and bald eagles roost. River otters and giant sea turtles visit. Do they get a vote?"
We must vote for all of the wildlife that has been irreversibly damaged and affected by the human excrement, urine, and garbage left behind by those disgusting party animals!
Let's get it done y'all!
Sincerely,
Chelly Seashore aka Cheryl Miele (Cherri)
