Today, San Francisco Opera and the SF Opera Orchestra announced that they have reached a tentative agreement, bringing the strike to an end and the music back to San Francisco.
To the musicians: thank you for your bravery, dedication, and for reminding us why music matters. You stood together, and this community was proud to stand behind you.
And to every person who signed this petition, shared it, spoke up, showed up, or helped bring attention to this crisis: thank you. What started with a simple request for a fair agreement became an extraordinary outpouring of support for the people who bring opera to life.
We’re grateful to see this moment arrive, and hopeful for what comes next for the Orchestra, the Opera, and this incredible community.
