Together with other Victorian survivor advocates, survivors from the Beaumaris community recently met and talked with Ms Angela Connors. Whom has been recently appointed as Chair of the independent truth-telling Forum for victim-survivors of historical child sexual abuse in all Victorian Government schools and certain other schools prior to the year 2000. This is the implementation of Recommendation 3 of the Board of Inquiry into historical child sexual abuse at Beaumaris Primary School and certain other government schools.
This was an opportunity for survivors to share their lived experience, knowledge, relevant expertise and opinions. At a time, these can influence the experience of survivors and others participating in the forum, and the benefits of doing so.
We are grateful Ms Connors provided this opportunity, seeking and welcoming all opinions, views and advice. And also indicating that she will continue to engage and consult with this group.

Together with the National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse, and Sexual Assault Services Victoria, we have been supporting the recognition of the UN World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Violence on 18 November 2025. Specifically supporting the illumination in blue - the colour of the rights of the child - of landmarks, buildings and infrastructure, and communications with relevant State and Territory ministers.
See the 64 already confirmed locations on the Light Up Australia in Blue on UN World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Violence. 18 November 2025 map. Many lending themselves to supporting a gathering on the night, such as Federation Square in Melbourne.
This day is to raise awareness of prevalence and impact, and is a call to action for governments and the public to focus on preventing child sexual abuse, supporting healing for survivors, and ensuring justice.
This is an opportunity for us to again raise the outcomes our petition seeks with the Victorian Minister of Health, that support healing for survivors.
