"The Victorian Government wants to hear from the community on a range of topics that relate to the recommendations of the recent Board of Inquiry into historical child sexual abuse in Beaumaris Primary school and certain other government schools.
They have developed this anonymous survey on Engage Victoria to help us to understand community views about a number of the Board of Inquiry’s recommendations. Your views will inform further work on these important reforms.
The survey will be open from 5 May 2025 and will close on 6 June 11:59pm.
Future consultation opportunities may include further surveys, in-person or online workshops, interviews, and working groups. During May and June, the Department of Education’s Restorative Engagement, Information and Support team along with the Principal of Beaumaris Primary School will be hosting several informal morning/afternoon teas with any survivors and their loved ones or former classmates who have been impacted by historical abuse at Beaumaris Primary School.
The purpose of the morning/afternoon teas is to give people a chance to share their thoughts about what a process towards acknowledgement and a memorial might mean to them. We also hope they can be an opportunity for former students to ask any questions, offer suggestions or raise any concerns about the process or the memorial more generally.
If this is something of interest to you, please contact us on the details above for more information.

The survey will seek to collect this demographic information about you to allow for grouping and analysing of responses by demographic and diversity groups. Your disclosure of this information is voluntary and if you choose not to, you may select “Prefer not to say” as your response to these questions.
This survey is anonymous and you do not need to provide your name to participate in this survey. We ask that you do not include any identifying information (about you or anyone else) when completing any survey questions with free text sections. Identifying information includes your name (or another person’s name), contact information, or other specific details that might allow a person to be identified.
